Enterprise security provider Blue Coat Systems is upping the ante on its partner program with the appointment of Kurt Mills as global channel chief and Steve Tchejeyan as senior vice president for Americas, Sales and Field Operations. Mills will report to Marc Andrews, Blue Coat’s senior vice president of Worldwide Field Operations.
“Both Kurt and Steve have proven track records of channel transformation, partner success and sales operations” said Andrews, in a statement. “They are terrific additions to our team. I’m looking forward to working with them to expand our global partner base and our sales efficiency while driving increased revenue.”
Mills and Tchejeyan will use their experience in the IT partner channel to help Blue Coat drive revenue growth and extend the company’s market presence, according to the announcement.
As vice president of Blue Coat’s Worldwide Channel Sales and Operations, Mills will be tasked with building and expanding channel partner relationships. Mills returns to Blue Coat after three years with Aerohive Networks, where he was vice president of Channel Sales, where he developed the company’s channel program structure.
“I have been following Blue Coat’s trajectory over the last three years, and am so excited to be back,” said Mills. “Blue Coat’s evolution to a world-class provider of security solutions that combine advanced malware detection capabilities, a strong forensics solution and industry-leading research capabilities are what sets Blue Coat apart and gets channel partners excited.”
Tchejeyan, meanwhile, will be responsible for developing Blue Coat’s largest markets and customer segments to widen the company’s market share. He will also oversee and manage Blue Coat’s North American and Latin America geo sales and field operations teams. Tchejeyan joins Blue Coat from Intel and spent six years at security vendor McAfee.
“This is an important time for Blue Coat as the company focuses on addressing the rapidly evolving security needs of its customers while bringing to market world-class products, including cloud, encrypted traffic management and advanced threat defense solutions,” said Tchejeyan. “I look forward to bringing my expertise to the growth and success of such an innovative company.”
The announcement follows the company’s recent appointment of Michael Fey as president and COO. The new hires are part of Blue Coat’s strategy for driving revenue growth and gaining additional market share in the web security market, according to the company.
