CompTIA Communities Continue Philanthropic Push
The philanthropic arm of CompTIA, Creating IT Futures Foundation, has funded two CompTIA member communities with a $20,000 donation for six organizations across the United States of America.The two CompTIA IT communities -- Managed Print Services (MPS) and Healthcare -- selected the organizations that would receive the donations.
The philanthropic arm of CompTIA, Creating IT Futures Foundation, has funded two CompTIA member communities with a $20,000 donation for six organizations across the United States of America.The two CompTIA IT communities — Managed Print Services (MPS) and Healthcare — selected the organizations that would receive the donations.
The CompTIA MPS community selected two organizations that would each receive $5,000:
Genesys Works (Chicago) — a not-for-profit organization that seeks to empower inner-city high school students to succeed in the corporate world
National Cristina Foundation — promotes the reuse of technology to enable people with disabilities
The CompTIA Healthcare IT community, which advances the agenda of IT initiatives in healthcare, divided its $10,000 donation among four organizations:
Wounded Warriors Project — an organization that is committed to raising awareness and enlisting the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members, helping injured service members aid and assist each other, and providing unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs
Starlight Children’s Foundation — a charity that helps seriously ill children and their families cope with their pain, fear and isolation through entertainment, education and family activities
Ronald McDonald House Charities — an organization which provides families with stability and resources so they can keep their child healthy and happy for 38 years
American Family Children’s Hospital (Madison, WI) — a hospital that provides specialized care in a healing environment for pediatric patients and their families
CompTIA, an organization that is dedicated to advancing the growth of the IT industry, formed CompTIA communities to further grow educational programs, market research, networking events, professional certifications, and public policy advocacy in the IT industry.
