CompTIA, the Computing Information Technology Industry Association, today launched a new online legal help desk to provide channel partners with high-quality legal services for a monthly subscription fee.

The InfoTech Law Advocates Legal Help Desk (ITLA) was announced today during the CompTIA Annual Member Meeting, being held this week in Chicago.

Billed as a resource for day-to-day legal matters, the help desk is staffed by attorneys with experience in business and regulatory issues affecting technology companies.

“The average agent, solution provider or MSP doesn’t have the resources to retain a dedicated attorney they trust to manage the growing legal needs of today’s IT and telecom service provider,” said Dan Liutikas, managing attorney of ITLA and chief legal counsel for CompTIA. “Our new ITLA Legal Help Desk removes the barriers and puts trusted legal services within reach of channel partners for a price that can’t be beat.”

Subscriptions are divided into three plans, including Basic and CompTIA Premier for $49, and Pro for $99. The Pro and CompTIA Premier plans include discounts for annual risk assessment services, annual report services and annual entity compliance services.

All plans include electronic signature routing and cloud storage for legal documents.

Verizon announced this month that it would make ITLA available to select members of its partners program, association officials said.

“ITLA is a unique and highly qualified legal firm that knows the ins and outs of an IT service provider’s business model,” said MJ Shoer, chairman of the CompTIA board of directors and chief technology officer for Internet & Telephone, LLC. “Dan and his team have been instrumental in the expansion and refinement of our company, and it’s exciting to see CompTIA expand ITLA and bring affordable, online legal expertise to channel partners doing business in the U.S.”

Demonstrations of the ITLA Legal Help Desk are being held at the annual member meeting, which runs through Thursday at the Fairmont Chicago Millenium Park Hotel.
