Howdy folks, and welcome to Distribution Watch. This week we wrangled up the latest news from Synnex (SNX), Arrow Electronics (ARW) and D&H Distributing for your reading pleasure.

Synnex: Synnex has added new offerings to its CONVERGESolv Secure Networking group, including managed security solutions, a cybersecurity partner care team and complementary network and security assessments. The new initiatives are meant to provide resellers with new ways to educate themselves about cybersecurity, according to the announcement.

Synnex has also added several other offerings to the CONVERGESolv program, including:

  • Intel Security technology to help shorten response times for advanced targeted attacks

  • Managed security solutions to outsource device management and configuration of devices to Synnex experts

  • Fortinet Managed Firewall Services

  • WatchGuard Managed Firewall Services

  • Dell SonicWALL Managed Security Services

"As the magnitude of security threats continues to escalate, it's critical for IT resellers to be proactive when managing and securing their customers' networks," said Reyna Thompson, vice president of Integrated Communications, Synnex Corporation, in a statement. "By making significant new investments with leading OEMs and vendors in the security space and internally at SYNNEX, we are well positioned to meet the demands of a growing number of resellers during a time when security has become an integral part of business planning and long-term success for the end-customer."

Arrow: Arrow Electronics is now the first active distributor of CentraLite Systems’ Jilia IoT developer framework in the United States thanks to a new agreement signed last week.

The Jilia IoT framework allows developers to establish IoT connectivity between smart devices using a single API framework, according to the announcement. Arrow will also offer CentraLite’s entire line of sensors and controls in addition to the Jilia framework.

“Arrow is excited to add the Jilia platform to our growing IoT solutions portfolio. It removes a lot of the cost and frustration our customers face in quickly developing new connected technologies and bringing them to market,” said Aiden Mitchell, vice president of IoT sales at Arrow. “Jilia is ideal for Arrow’s industrial and commercial customers looking to develop innovative IoT solutions for a wide variety of markets and applications, including intelligent lighting.”

D&H: D&H announced the launch of a Pre-Sales VAR Support Program this month, which is expected to help resellers to improve their business processes and better serve their customers. The program matches resellers with D&H Solutions Team experts who assist with quote creation, assembling a bill of materials, product solutions configuration, training and more.

The program grew out of feedback taken from D&H’s recent customer engagement events, according to the announcement. D&H said it hopes to aid its partners by increasing their understanding of disciplines like wireless networks, storage and digital signage while also exposing more resellers to the benefits of cloud-based infrastructures.

“Our VARs say they’re looking to assemble that total solution, as opposed to just learning about products individually,” said Dan Schwab, co-president at D&H Distributing. “They need the big picture on how to make the sale in different environments. We set the groundwork to deliver this in the past fiscal year, and will continue to build value through a more comprehensive program this year.”

Thanks for reading everyone. Have a great week, and keep on distributing.
