Salesforce completed its $27.7 billion acquisition of Slack in July.
“It’s an amazing company and we were using the product for years,” Marc Benioff said. “We love the product, we love the management team and everything about it. And then all of a sudden we realized it’s a pandemic and all of our buildings are closed. Good thing we have a digital headquarters because we needed a digital headquarters.”
Digital headquarters becomes an essential building block to building a trusted enterprise in today’s world, he said.
Bret Taylor is Salesforce’s president and COO.
“We’re in an all-digital, work-anywhere world and we’re not going back,” he said. “So the amazing engineers at Salesforce have spent the past year reimagining this platform for this all-digital world. It all starts with our sales cloud. We’ve reimagined sales cloud to power the next generation digital selling team. So whether you’re selling in a conference room, or selling over Slack Connect or Zoom, sales cloud is your engine for growth in this amazing new digital economy.”
In addition, Salesforce has a new all-digital contact center.
“It’s truly the most complete customer service platform powering customer experiences for the brands we all love,” Taylor said.
The Salesforce customer data platform enables any company of any size to manage, segment and activate first-party data with trust built in, he said.
“And of course, there’s our commerce platform,” Taylor said. “Last year, e-commerce was just commerce. You’re going to see how we’ve built commerce directly into the Customer 360 platform. You can add commerce to any experience with clicks, not code.”
And all of Customer 360 is built on Hyperforce, Salesforce’s next-generation public cloud platform.
“We spent the past year making this even better,” Taylor said.
Following the August launch of new Slack integrations across sales, service, marketing and analytics (Tableau), Salesforce is launching integrations across most of its products. That includes commerce, experience, platform, Trailhead, MuleSoft and Quip, and its industry clouds and products including sustainability, corporate and investment banking, health care and life sciences, philanthropy, nonprofit and education.
“Our mindset about work has shifted from a place you go, to something you do,” Taylor said. “Every company needs a digital HQ to connect its employees, customers and partners, and thrive in a work-from-anywhere world. Organizations around the world build their digital HQs on Salesforce and Slack so they can work better and grow faster.”
Salesforce also launched new Slack functionality. Clips are a new way to create and share audio, video and screen recordings within any channel or direct message in Slack. GovSlack is a version of Slack that meets the most stringent security and compliance needs of the U.S. government and the agencies they work with.
In addition, a host of enhancements to Slack Connect make it easier than ever to create and manage connections, even for customers and partners who don’t already use Slack.
Salesforce has launched Health Cloud 2.0, a technology designed to allow businesses and governments to deliver better health and safety for their employees, customers and communities.
The Health Cloud 2.0 portfolio of products will be available to any business in any sector:
Dreampass is designed to help deliver safer in-person events for employees, customers and communities.
Contact tracing allows organizations to manually contact trace more safely and securely by collecting only limited, necessary data from individuals who are infected or potentially exposed, and creating visual maps of contacts to monitor for potential outbreaks.
Vaccine management helps governments and organizations manage vaccine programs. That includes inventory management, appointment scheduling, outcome monitoring, public health notifications and more.
Value-based care from anywhere enables health care organizations to personalize patient experiences and deliver hybrid health care experiences in multiple care settings.
Salesforce has achieved net-zero across its value chain and 100% renewable energy for its operations. The company developed emissions reductions strategies across four key categories: work from anywhere, infrastructure, business travel and supply chain.
“We are an example as we enter the Fortune 100 next year of a company that is net-zero and renewable,” Benioff said. “Our sustainability team, we want to be a model. We want to show you how you can take your company to be fully net zero and renewable.”
Salesforce is also unveiling Sustainability Cloud 2.0 to accelerate customers’ path to net-zero, empowering organizations to track and reduce their carbon emissions and become a sustainable business. New innovations include Slack-First Sustainability for better collaboration with suppliers, a carbon-offset ecosystem, and industry specific climate action plans.

At its Dreamforce 2021 conference Tuesday, Salesforce unveiled new capabilities that integrate Slack across its products and industry services.
Salesforce also rolled out new Slack innovations that improve collaboration across organizational boundaries and empower teams to embrace asynchronous working.
Marc Benioff is Salesforce’s chair and CEO. He said the theme of Dreamforce 2021 is “welcome to the trusted enterprise.”

“There is a huge change that is going on,” he said. “And we believe that change is the change and transformation, and evolution and inspiration into the trusted enterprise.”
Salesforce‘s playbook for trusted enterprise includes: regaining trust, customer-first systems, digital HQs, the health and safety of all, and sustainability.
Salesforce has 15 million “trailblazers” globally. They’re individuals who are innovating with Salesforce, using its platform to transform their companies. Benioff said Salesforce’s partners are also trailblazers.
Salesforce achieved $26.3 billion in revenue this year, “and it’s because of the trailblazers,” he said. He expects revenue to reach $50 billion by 2026.
“When we go out and say how can we make the world better, how can we commit to improving the state of the world, how do we repair the world, not only are we just doing well, but we’re doing good at the same time,” Benioff said.
