Clarizen Worldwide Sales Senior Vice President Ted Purcell says he's ready to share the vision of leading the future of work with Clarizen.

Former SAP AG (SAP) executive Ted Purcell has joined work collaboration and project management software developer Clarizen to lead the company’s worldwide sales operations.

The company said Purcell will take an active role in scaling Clarizen’s global business, focusing on new customer growth, as well as making customers successful.

“I’m extremely excited to join the team, build on the great customer momentum and culture already in place, and to share in the vision of leading the future of work,” Purcell said.

During his time at SAP, Purcell held a variety of sales and senior sales leadership roles at SAP, working with customer growth in emerging areas and markets. Before SAP, Purcell held sales and business development leadership roles at various technology companies, including Covalent Technologies (acquired by VMWare (VMW)), Shutterfly and Pure Software (acquired by Rational Software and IBM (IBM)).

Clarizen founder and CEO Avinoam Nowogrodski said in prepared statement that Purcell will help lead the company’s vision of connecting social collaboration.

“I am delighted to welcome Ted to the Clarizen team to help deliver on this vision. I am confident that with his focused leadership, and his strong strategic and innovative thinking, Clarizen will continue to outperform our sales goals – in both new bookings and expansions,” he said.

Nowogrodsk told Talkin’ Cloud in August 2013 that social networks drive collaboration, but not results for enterprises.

Clarizen has a strategic alliance with content-sharing company Box.
