ServiceMesh CEO Eric Pulier oversees a cloud management company that now operates in three continents. He’s passionate about the benefits of technology and how it affects governments, economies and industries. But we wanted to dive deeper into his life outside of the office. How does Pulier manage his business cards? How does he save money on gas? We’ll reveal the answers in this Talkin’ Cloud exclusive.
PULIER: I’ve been lucky to have the chance to work with some of the most talented people in the world to build trailblazing enterprise ventures, including MediaPlatform, US Interactive, Desktone and SOA Software. These experiences provided me with the biggest opportunity yet: ServiceMesh.
TALKIN CLOUD’s SPIN: The only way to move up in life is to get yourself out in the field and work with the best.
PULIER: We bet ServiceMesh on two ideas: every company in the world would fundamentally change their operating model in the short term and the entire IT stack is only as important as the applications it supports. This was a big bet several years ago that is now paying dividends for ServiceMesh — and more importantly, its customers.
TALKIN CLOUD’s SPIN: Go big or go home.
PULIER: I like LinkedIn CardMunch. I can finally discard all those business cards that clutter up my countertop every night after I empty my pockets!
TALKIN CLOUD’s SPIN: I thought I was the only one who still asked for business cards at technology conferences. (By the way, I never have any of my own cards on me. Fail.)
PULIER: Well, we use Gmail and Google Apps, so I’m on that service every day. I also seem to use Find My iPhone more often than I care to admit.
TALKIN CLOUD’s SPIN: Some may say that Google controls our every move. How much is too much?
PULIER: The Withings Wi-Fi Body Scale and a Razor Electric Scooter. I’d probably need a scale less if I walked instead of using the scooter, but such is the fate of a gadget addict.
TALKIN CLOUD’s SPIN: Yes, but you are saving money on gas, no?
PULIER: Tom Petty in Los Angeles.
TALKIN CLOUD’s SPIN: American Girl — still one of my favorite songs of all time.
PULIER: Casino for the 10,000th time.
TALKIN CLOUD’s SPIN: “The Feds were watching Nicky play golf for so long that they ran out of gas. Just what I needed, right in front of the control board.”
PULIER: Suits starring Gabriel Macht—best show on TV.
TALKIN CLOUD’s SPIN: Ah, thanks for the reminder. I do need to pick my clothes up from the dry cleaner.

TALKIN CLOUD’s SPIN: Ah, thanks for the reminder. I do need to pick my clothes up from the dry cleaner.
