Sometimes The VAR Guy amazes even himself. About a year ago, he told readers to check out BroadSign International, which develops digital signage married to SaaS (software as a service). Now, Ingram Micro and BroadSign have unveiled a digital signage kit for North American VARs. The VAR Guy is hardly surprised. Here’s the scoop.
First, some exclusive research. (The VAR Guy is just full of data points today…)
Roughly 4 percent of today’s managed service providers (MSPs) offer digital signage solutions to their customers, according to the latest MSPmentor 100 survey results. (The complete results will be unveiled February 11.)
Also, MSPmentor plotted Digital Signage as an emerging SaaS offering on the Managed Services Hype Cycle.
Ingram and BroadSign have been working together for about a year. The latest move involves a Digital Signage Kits. According to an Ingram press release:
[The kits] come in a variety of bundles that allow Ingram Micro value-added resellers (VARs) in the U.S. and Canada to sell digital signage packages to end users. BroadSign International provides the software component which includes BroadSign™ Suite, an easy-to-use SaaS platform with optional high-quality content feeds that can be customized to entertain and inform viewers. These new digital signage kits are an industry first for the IT channel and mark the start of BroadSign’s exclusive relationship with Ingram Micro.
Yada, yada, yada: Ingram and The VAR Guy came to the same conclusion. Digital signage married with SaaS is a real opportunity for VARs.
