Knowlarity Communications Secures $16M From Mayfield, Sequoia Capital
Knowlarity Communications has secured $16 million in a Series B funding round.
Cloud telephony services provider Knowlarity Communications has secured $16 million in a Series B funding round from investors Mayfield and Sequoia Capital.
The company said it plans to use the Series B funds for research and development and to expand globally.
“Knowlarity is to communications what Amazon Web Services (AWS) is to applications. Knowlarity provides the tools needed by businesses to build today and scale tomorrow,” Knowlarity CEO Ambarish Gupta said in a prepared statement.
Gupta said Knowlarity, India’s largest cloud telephony company, plans to use a 360-degree model to connect with customers worldwide.
“Knowlarity has captured the fragmented enterprise segment in emerging markets using a 360-degree customer acquisition model that includes online marketing, field visits and channel partners. The company plans to use the same model to increase its presence in overseas markets,” Gupta said.
What other cloud-based telephony services are available?
Cloud-based telephony services are designed to make it easier for enterprises to handle calls from any location, at any time.
Several companies offer cloud-based communication services, including Voxox and Easy Office Phone.
Voxox’s Cloud Phone is a “basic yet professional” phone service for entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), according to CEO Bryan Hertz.
Easy Office Phone, meanwhile, launched a managed Internet service earlier this year that is designed to enhance phone quality and data security for SMBs.
