LogMeIn (LOGM), which increasingly promotes cloud and mobile services through MSPs, sure sounds optimistic. The company recently raised its full-year revenue outlook. Next up: LogMeIn will increasingly promote cloud services like Xively and AppGuru to help MSPs manage the Internet of Things (IoT), BYOD and more. Here’s a closer look.

When LogMeIn announced Q3 results last week, the company said revenues rose $21 percent to $43 million. In a prepared statement, CEO Michael Simon said LogMeIn expects full-year revenue of $164.8 million to $165.3 million — which is up from previous estimates.

LogMeIn’s business is built on a cloud platform called gravity. And newer services are coming online. They new offerings include:

  • Xively — a public cloud for the Internet of Things

  • AppGuru — which allows MSPs and IT to discover cloud apps coming into the business, strategically analyze the value and risks they pose to the workplace, and provision the best for widespread use.

The AppGuru platform is particulary important as MSPs strive to help customers manage with Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and Bring Your Own Application (BYOA) challenges. It sounds like LogMeIn’s channel team will host a BYOD webcast for MSPs on Oct. 31.

Expanding Partner Program

LogMeIn has spent most of 2013 building and expanding its channel partner team. Recruits have included Channel Chief Ted Roller and Channel Engagement Manager Shannon Kohn Mayer. The company has also built a close working relationship with Continuum, while LogMeIn CEO Michael Simon is talking up partner opportunities.

During an earnings call last week, Simon said:

“Xively was released in the second quarter and is already receiving positive early interest from commercial developers and partners alike. In the past months, inquiries into our IOT Platform as a Service have changed from exploratory pilots and developer experiments to projects with specific commercial goals….We also introduced Xively’s partner program and have started to build what we believe will be a valuable ecosystem of partners in this burgeoning market.”

Shifting to AppGuru, Simon said:

“During the quarter, we also continued to hit important development milestones for AppGuru, our key new IT management offering. AppGuru is a product designed to help IT professionals first, embrace the growing use of cloud applications in the workplace and second, make the transition from PC and network-centric management to user and cloud-centric management.”

It’s a safe bet LogMeIn’s channel team will make AppGuru a top priority in the weeks and months ahead.
