Spring: I worked in my families’ tobacco field and on the family farm. I was 8.
The VAR Guy says: Talk about getting an early start in the working world! We bet that must have been tough work, but at least it prepared you for the rigors of working in the IT channel.
Spring: Any kind that works and lets me haul stuff.
The VAR Guy says: In that case, we chose a Ford F-150 Raptor to help you get the job done. This baby should let you carry all the heavy equipment you need.
Spring: Boca Grande Island, Florida
The VAR Guy says: This residential community on Gasparilla Island in southwest Florida is known for its beautiful beaches, old-fashioned downtown shopping district and a large fishing community. All in all, it sounds like a great place to spend some quality time away from the office.
Spring: The Bible, as well as anything by a Russian 20th century author will do—so much angst!
The VAR Guy says: You certainly picked a bestseller! As for a classic 20th century Russian novel, we chose to go with "How the Steel was Tempered," a famous socialist realist novel written by Nikolai Ostrovsky in 1936. The novel follows main character Pavel Korchagin as he recounts his life story.
Spring: I bought $800 sheets for my kids for this year’s Christmas presents.
The VAR Guy says: Wow! They must sleep like royalty with sheets like those. There's nothing better than getting into a comfy bed at the end of the day.
Spring: I do not watch TV, and I haven’t for 20 years.
The VAR Guy says: No TV? We didn't even know those two words were allowed to be together in the same sentence! What do you point all of your furniture at?
Spring: I wanted to be a concert pianist until I discovered boys are more fun than classical music!
The VAR Guy says: That may be true, but musicians are always looked upon with favor by the opposite sex. Talent equals attractiveness!
Spring: "Starship Troopers"; It’s so cheesy and hilarious. And I love the Vulcan mind meld; Spock revisited!
The VAR Guy says: Great pick! Paul Verhoeven's wacky space tale of giant alien bugs vs. tough-as-nails space marines is always a good time, whether you catch it halfway through on cable or happen to own the entire movie franchise on DVD (not that we're admitting to anything, of course). For even more fun, we recommend checking out the original novel by science fiction author Robert A. Heinlein.
