Rod Millar, Tech Data Mobile’s senior vice president, has left the company unexpectedly, according to a report from Mobile Today.
Tech Data (TECD) will not be seeking a replacement for Millar’s role in the distributor’s global mobile business, according to a company spokesperson. Stephen Nolan will take over the role of senior vice president of Europe for Tech Data Mobile in the wake of Millar’s resignation.
Although neither Tech Data Mobile or Millar himself were available for further comment, Mobile Today reported that the company has experienced a period of decreased executive morale and a recent financial investigation in the last several months, with Huub Lamers recently stepping down as the head of Tech Data Mobile’s Benelux, Spanish, French and Italian businesses. Several U.K. division senior directors have also departed recently, including former Tech Data Mobile U.K. and Ireland head Jim Michel.
Millar has been with Tech Data since 2007, where he started in the company’s European mobile business unit. Millar was promoted to SVP of Tech Data Mobile in February and was formerly the president of Tech Data Mobile’s European division. Prior to working at Tech Data he spent several years working as Managing Director for 20:20, a British mobile distributor.
