Microsoft updated its Defender portfolio in three ways.
First, the Redmond, Washington-based company added a threat intelligence feature. It gives customers and partners direct access to security information from Defender and Microsft’s SIEM platform. Microsoft also added an external attack surface management offering.

Extreme Networks is offering its customers advanced network services through Advantage Communications Group.
Advantage, the telecom agent-turned-MSP, will put its customer portal within Extreme’s platform. Extreme’s elite tier of customers will access the service and gain insight into network performance and see inventory and billing for their underlay networks.

The GoTo UCaaS offering now includes a helpdesk component.
Customers can now use the GoTo UCaaS app to submit a support ticket.
In addition, the vendor launched a new “Essentials” bundle that brings together its Connect Standard and Resolve Standard offering on a single invoice and a “competitive” price.

HP announced new peripherals that it said will improve the hybrid work experience.
Those peripherals include a new streaming webcam, advanced AI insights and a magnetic inking pen.
Moreover, HP claimed it was the first company to combine an IPS Black Panel with Thunderbolt 4 support in its latest display.

Juniper Networks upgraded its campus and branch portfolio to better enable network as a service.
Three updates to the vendor’s AIops platform include a unified portal for managing wired, wireless and SD-WAN. Juniper has also introduced more flexibility into its licensing management.

Lumen Technologies unveiled a marketplace approach for secure access service edge (SASE) solutions.
Through Lumen SASE Solutions, customers and partners purchase, implement and manage technology through the Lumen Marketplace. VMware and Fortinet have signed on to offer hardware, software, cloud security gateways and remote acess.

Samsung debuted upgraded foldable phones.
Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 foldable models function as incremental upgrades from last year’s iterations. The former’s screen spans 7.6 inches, and the latter’s screen spans 6.2.
Whereas Samsung sold 10 million foldables in 2021, executives said last month that they want to bring the technology “into the mainstream.”

Igel announced a new program to help partners sell business recovery services.
The new initiative brings together a variety of (OS)-powered devices on a single console for the purpose of restoring productivity for end users. It involves the Igel Universal Management Suite (UMS), Igel UD Pocket and other solutions.

A new secure access service edge (SASE) offering leverages the combined resources of Comcast Business, Fortinet and Equinix.
The deal expands Fortinet and Comcast Business’ relationship, which already included a managed SD-WAN service. It also represents Comcast Business’ second SASE partnership; Comcast had already added Palo Alto SASE to its software-defined networking platform.
Comcast hosts its secure cloud gateways in Equinix data centers.

Google Cloud and others have launched a community-driven security analytics resource.
The Cloud Analytics project comes from the MITRE Engenuity Center for Threat-Informed Defense. Google Cloud starting partnering with the organization last year to build open-source security analytics. According to Google Cloud, the Cloud Analytics project contains tactics and procedures designed to make life easier for threat hunters and detection engineers.

OTG will distribute the offerings and services of Adaptiv Networks. OTG executives said Adaptiv’s platform will serve as a good complement to the UCaaS its agents delivering to customers. On the other hand, Adaptiv expanded its sales force through the alliance with OTG.

Comcast Business, Microsoft and several other vendors in the information technology and communications (ICT) channel unveiled new products and services recently.
MSPs, brokers, resellers, systems integrators and other partners have no shortage of offerings to choose from. In some cases, suppliers have rolled out entirely new technology sets. In other cases, they’ve updated existing offerings.
From the telco world, secure access service edge (SASE) remains a red hot offering. Two prominent internet service providers, including Comcast Business, teamed with other vendors to roll out SASE services.
As you might expect, there was no shortage cybersecurity product announcements last year. Google Cloud announced a new project that will aid threat intelligence leaders, and Microsoft updated its Defender portfolio.
