    They are the new services that could make your business more money. And this month they come from some suppliers with which you probably already do business.

    We’ve once again compiled the latest new products and services that partners can sell now or in the not-too-distant future.

    Traditional telcos such as CenturyLink and Windstream were among the big names that took the wraps off of new services in January. But IT giants like Cisco and Dell EMC weren’t about to be outdone.

    The new releases described in the following pages range from IP phones to security services to SD-WAN and more.

  • New Services Roundup: CenturyLink

    CenturyLink launched its Big Data as a Service (BDaaS) with Managed Cloudera, which combines the Cloudera Enterprise platform on CenturyLink Cloud bare-metal servers with managed services and advanced analytics-consulting services.

    The managed service aims to help customers deliver use cases for increasing sales, streamlining operations, improving customer engagement and gaining competitive advantage, CenturyLink said.

  • New Services Roundup: Windstream

    Windstream rolled out its SD-WAN service aimed at midmarket enterprises, and powered by VeloCloud.

    Windstream’s SD-WAN offers businesses, including midmarket customers, a “more tailored, flexible and controllable WAN experience,” the company said. It is available nationally, and already has drawn interest from customers in the retail, banking, professional services, health care, manufacturing and financial-services industries, according to Windstream.

  • New Services Roundup: Allworx

    Meantime, Windstream-owned Allworx has announced a new line of phones that it said will fit in well in a corporate environment where mobile devices are being used more and more for work activities.

    The Allworx Verge IP phone line is “mobile-first,” the result of the company wrestling with the question of how desk phones stay relevant in the age of cellphones.

  • New Services Roundup: Cisco

    Cisco updated its data-center certification track with a new data and analytics portfolio that readies IT professionals for the modern data-center environment.

    The new training focuses on data management and data virtualization, or integrated data management and virtualization, and includes skills and hands-on learning.

  • New Services Roundup: Dell EMC

    Dell EMC launched ProDepoy Client Suite, a set of PC deployment services and framework that partners can leverage as a new business opportunity.

    The new Suite consists of three service levels: Basic, ProDeploy and ProDeploy Plus — each offering different service levels, training and certification.

  • New Services Roundup: IntelePeer

    Business communications provider IntelePeer launched its new Atmosphere Communications Platform that combines cloud, contact center and premises voice.

     

    The platform combines its enterprise voice services and SIP with its recently acquired cloud contact center service and its direct integrations with Cisco Spark unified communications.

  • New Services Roundup: Sophos

    Sophos released its Phish Threat training service and phishing attack simulator. The system integrates with the Sophos Central security management platform, and automated campaign analysis means it can be updated continuously to reflect changes in attacker behavior.

    With Phish Threat, a partner can send realistic phishing emails directly into an end user’s inbox, regardless of mail client. A key point is that end users don’t know they’re in training mode.

  • New Services Roundup: Infoblox

    Infoblox announced a SaaS offering to help its partners detect and respond quickly to DNS-based attacks on customer networks, mobile employees and branch offices.

    The company said the new ActiveTrust Cloud assists in identifying compromised devices on or off the network with a <.001% false-positive rate, preventing data exfiltration through DNS channels, and automatically blocking communications with command-and-control servers to keep attackers from redirecting traffic to malicious sites or spreading malware.

  • New Services Roundup: Kaseya

    Kaseya, a provider of IT management solutions for MSPs and SMBs, made the newest version of its Kaseya VSA remote monitoring and management solution available. Version 9.4 is available on-premises and in the cloud.

  • New Services Roundup: Barracuda

    MSP-focused security provider Barracuda Networks announced virtual and public cloud versions of its Barracuda NextGen Firewall – Intronis MSP Edition. The services are sold in a subscription model and can be used to protect customer VMware, Citrix XenServer, KVM and Hyper-V private clouds and workloads hosted offsite in Microsoft Azure, AWS and Google Cloud Platform.

    Barracuda also launched its Vulnerability Remediation Service, an expansion of its Web Application Firewall product line.

  • New Services Roundup: Intel

    Intel launched a new Internet of Things (IoT) retail platform and plans to invest more than $100 million during the next five years in the retail industry.

    The Responsive Retail Platform (RRP) collects multiple data streams to connect digital and physical environments. With the goals of lowering costs and increasing sales, it aims to help optimal inventory placement, deploying employees and other resources, and tracking inventory through the supply chain to the store door.

  • New Services Roundup: EiQ Networks

    Security-as-a-service provider EiQ Networks announced a new patch-management capability within its SOCVue Security Operations and Analytics Platform.

    Vijay Basani, EiQ’s co-founder, president and CEO, told Channel Partners that the offering will address the 71 percent of attacks that exploit vulnerabilities for which patches have been available for more than a year prior to the breach. That stat reflects the difficulty many customer IT teams have keeping patches up to date for the dozens or hundreds of OSes and applications in use in their organizations.
