Star2Star
Star2Star Communications introduced StarSystem Hosted, a fully hosted UC platform that uses VeloCloud SD-WAN to improve performance over private, broadband and LTE networks. Star2Star says VeloCloud technology in StarSystem includes software-defined control of bandwidth allocation and improved performance of applications.

Windstream
Windstream expanded its SDN Orchestrated Waves (SDNow) transport service into 50 markets across the United States, including major cloud connectivity and peering locations. The high-speed optical wave service uses a centralized, programmable software-defined networking (SDN) environment.

BCN
BCN Telecom completed a full rollout of local service availability in all 18 states that comprise the CenturyLink Legacy Embarq territory. BCN’s vice president of sales told Channel Partners his company expects the availability of services in the CenturyLink Legacy Embarq territory will move partners closer to investigating a BCN service if their opportunity contains locations where this service might be a fit.

Masergy
Masergy, the hybrid networking provider, launched the Masergy Communicator Hub. The company says the Hub improves productivity using a single screen that contains all of the notes, emails and shared documents captured from collaboration applications.

AT&T Partner Exchange
AT&T Partner Exchange launched new mobility tools, including a backup plan for wireless wide area networks (WWAN). The reseller program also announced an updated WWAN solution guide and an application programming interface (API) for mobility port management. AT&T executives say the new offerings help partners transition into selling wireless solutions.

Verizon
Not to be outdone by its biggest rival, Verizon Enterprise Solutions added new collaboration tools to its business communications portfolio. The telecommunications provider announced multiple changes to One Talk, its mobile solution that incorporates business phone features. Verizon has added workspace collaboration to One Talk, which will allow users to do live meetings group chats, storage and task management from their mobile devices.

Cisco
Cisco announced two new predictive services – Business Critical Services and High-Value Services – which use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to help businesses mitigate IT risk and anticipate failures. Cisco said the new services represent opportunity for partners to add to what they are already selling or to get started selling services as a part of their business.

SolarWinds
SolarWinds launched Mail Assure, a cloud-based email malware protection and spam filtering solution that acts as a protective layer for all incoming and outgoing email. It is continuously updated with input from more than 2 million domains in more than 85 countries, while the Mail Assure spam and threat protection helps to shield users from email threats, the company said.

FatPipe
FatPipe Networks unveiled an enterprise product for SD-WAN that allows for what the company says is easy deployment of network functions virtualization (NFV). FatPipe Virtualized Network Function (VNF) integrates SD-WAN functionality with routing, firewall, security, DPI (deep packet inspection), QoS, WAN optimization and domain name system (DNS) management to allow the digital transformation of NFV.

Commvault
Commvault unveiled two cloud-ready data infrastructure offerings designed to provide customers with on-premises “simplicity, elasticity, resiliency, flexibility and scale” for managing and protecting secondary data. The launch addresses the ongoing shift enterprises are making toward secondary storage as a means to drive key business and IT transformation initiatives, Commvault said. The HyperScale technology is available directly through Commvault or through its global partner community.

Entisys360
Virtualization infrastructure and cloud consultancy Entisys360 launched a new practice centered around digital transformation, focused specifically on DevOps; IT as a service; and big data and analytics. The Digital Transformation Practice provides Entisys360 clients with access to a range of skills and “elevated vendor support resources” from key vendor partners including Citrix, Cisco, VMware, NetApp, Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE).

Plenty of big name IT and telecommunications companies in October announced new products and services that their indirect sales partners can sell and deliver to business end users. SD-WAN, security and mobility were just a few of the types of solutions that went live last month.
