NuVox Communications launched a new wholesale program for resellers, cablecos and larger carriers needing backhaul and VoIP.

The company recently merged with service provider FDN. Once the deal closed, they combined their strengths FDNs product set and NuVoxs MPLS network to roll out the wholesale channel, says Jim DaBramo, executive vice president of strategic sales at NuVox.

Wholesale customers will be able to rebrand the services they buy from NuVox. We bill them, they bill the customer, says DaBramo. Products include UNEL; packages for multidwelling units and government agencies; SIP trunking, voice origination, DSL aggregation, PRI, dynamic T1 and DSL line-share. NuVox also will provide phone numbers and local PSTN connectivity in certain areas, DaBramo says, so other operators dont have to build interconnection infrastructure.

The wholesale offerings will be sold throughout NuVoxs 16-state footprint, although availability will depend on the product, says DaBramo.

NuVox serves more than 90,000 customers throughout the Midwest and Southeast, providing voice, data and security services to businesses. It uses equipment from Cisco Systems Inc., Alcatel- Lucent, Nortel Networks and Sonus Networks Inc. NuVox provisions its VoIP services through gear from Sylantro Systems, IP Unity Glenayre and Acme Packet.
