Oracle Partner Network (OPN) expanded its value-added distribution offerings with Oracle Cloud services, the company announced today during its annual Oracle OpenWorld event in San Francisco.
Oracle (ORCL) is counting on partners to leverage distributors in reselling and implementing Oracle Cloud and utilize the newly formed Oracle Cloud Connection community, according to the company. By giving partner access to cloud services, Oracle said partners will benefit from more deployment options and reach new end users.
“Our success relies on our partners' ability to sell and implement Oracle Cloud services in the broad market. For this very reason, we continue to invest more resources in helping partners maximize their cloud-based opportunities, in turn extending the opportunities for our customers," said Bruce Chumley, group vice president, Worldwide Alliances and Channels, Distribution Sales at Oracle, in a statement. "The addition of Oracle Cloud services to Oracle's VAD distribution offerings will not only help extend our reach, but also give both our reseller partners and our customers the chance to work with skilled cloud experts in their local markets. It's a win-win for everyone."
Oracle will work with Arrow Electronics (ARW), Avnet (AVT), NEXTGEN and Tech Data (TECD) to identify partners it deems best qualified to deliver customer value in the cloud, according to the company. Both new and existing partners will be able to utilize the Oracle Cloud Connection online community to learn about its cloud solutions.
Oracle said the addition of cloud services will provide partners with more choices in how they deploy the company’s cloud offerings and grow their own cloud businesses. There are currently 15,000 registered Oracle Cloud specialists, with an additional 600 partners possessing Cloud Specializations through the company. Oracle plans to expand its cloud ecosystem and add new distributors to the program within the next several quarters.
