ProfitBricks Offers High Availability Cloud VMs

ProfitBricks announced Thursday the general availability of high availability (HA) virtual data centers for cloud deployments.

This new feature offers dynamic routing of IPv4 addresses to virtual machines through support of Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) in contrast to standard networks wherein IPv4 addresses are assigned to specific virtual machines.

ProfitBricks’ network support of ARP enables an out-of-the-box high availability VM environment. For example, Linux distributions like Ubuntu and Debian can be implemented with Linux-HA and deployed on the ProfitBricks cloud without any special configuration in a Linux high availability environment.

“Simple implementation of high availability virtual data centers illustrates how ProfitBricks is leading the cloud computing 2.0 charge,” said Bob Rizika, CEO, ProfitBricks USA. “Business-critical cloud deployments should be simple to setup and maintain while offering the same reliability configurations as traditional on-premises data centers.”

ProfitBricks High Availability offering is available immediately and without additional cost. Enterprises can leverage ProfitBricks’ graphical interface, Data Center Designer (DCD) or APIs to configure their cloud servers, storage and networks.
