Pax8 is aiming to unify its various European segments.
The cloud distributor has acquired multiple EMEA companies, including distributors Resello and Wirehive. Pax8 appointed an EMEA CEO to bring those assets together. The company also plans to expand its European footprint.

TBI, the independently owned TSD, expanded its line card last quarter.
Managed infrastructure solutions provider 11:11 Systems signed a supplier agreement with Chicago-based TBI. The vendor has recently acquired Green Cloud Defense and part of Sungard Availability Services.
Moreover, Windstream’s SMB-focused division Kinetic Business teamed up with TBI.

It’s not the year 2022 if we aren’t getting consolidation every quarter. This time around it was Telarus again.
Utah-based Telarus once again strengthened its Southeast footprint by purchasing Florida-based TelAdvocate. The financially undisclosed acquisition came about two months after Telarus announced the purchase of TCG, another Florida-based tech solutions brokerage (TSB).
The companies’ leaders have known each other for sometime, with TelAdvocate landing on Telarus’ top partner list in the past.

Westcon-Comstor launched a division specifically to support its UCaaS and CCaaS vendors and the partners who sell those services.
TD Synnex-owned Westcon, which signed an U.K. TSD agreement with Avaya a couple of years ago, launched a Cloud & Collaboration business. Its team includes pre- and post-sales support as well as marketers and business development managers.
Vendors in the division include RingCentral, Poly and Jabra.

Ingram Micro is pursuing an initial public offering (IPO).
The distributor sent in a draft registration statement to the SEC, signaling its intent to go public. Platinum Equity currently owns Ingram Micro, having bought it from HNA Technology Co. for $7.2 billion.
Ingram also unveiled its Xvantage digital experience platform.

Avant emphasized its ambitions for driving cybersecurity sales at its recent summit.
Security was the talk of the town at the Avant Special Forces Summit. The event, held in Austin, Texas, highlighted a group of security vendors that are embracing the channel and a group of partners who finetuning their ability to sell cybersecurity.

Intelisys and its parent company ScanSource continue to evangelize their message of hybrid distribution.
The hybrid distributor has been urging its legacy ScanSource reseller partners to embrace cloud and carrier services and its legacy Intelisys agents to add hardware. ScanSource is betting on helping its large partner base to drastically expand its wallet share with customers.

Sandler Partners honored some of its top suppliers.
The tech solutions distributor recognized RingCentral as its top collaboration and UCaaS provider, as well as achiever of top revenue growth.
Vonage won Sandler’s top CCaaS partner.

8×8, one of the channel’s largest UCaaS and CCaaS providers, recognized its top North American TSD partner.
Intelisys claimed that honor from 8×8, which has been a multi-year winner of Intelisys’ top overall supplier award. 8×8 signed a platinum level supplier partnership with Intelisys in 2015.
TD Synnex, once known as Synnex Corporation before the big deal, reportedly increased its revenues 190% year-over-year.
The combined forces of Synnex and Tech Data earned between $14.5 billion and $15.5 billion in fiscal Q3 revenue. Moreover, the company announced a guidance of between $138 million to $177 million in operating income next quarter.

AppSmart, the channel-facing B2B marketplace owned by AppDirect, brought together the sales teams from all the TSDs it acquired.
All U.S. sales now operates under the guidance of Christopher Shubert, vice president of channel sales. That comes after AppSmart integrated multiple companies, including WTG, Telegration, CNSG and MicroCorp.
Shubert said the combined group is operating with a “single system and single philosophy.”

One of the largest IT distributors (also known as distis) is trying to go public, and one of the largest technology services distributors (also known as TSDs) bought another company.
There’s plenty of action going on in the world of distribution. Consolidation continues in the TSD space, with Telarus landing another Florida-based brokerage. The disti space, which by some accounts has already gone through much of that consolidation, will likely see Ingram Micro file for an IPO. And one company is working hard to completely blur the lines between the agency and VAR worlds.
In the meantime, distributors continue to sign new suppliers, expand geographically, launch new programs and vie for awards.
