Tech Data (TECD) announced it has promoted executives Pete Peterson and Marty Bauerlein to new roles within the company.
As of April 1, Peterson will assume the role of senior vice president, Business Development, and Bauerlein will become senior vice president of U.S. Sales.
Peterson will be responsible for Tech Data’s new vendor partner acquisition and diversification opportunities, and will report to Tech Data CEO Bob Dutkowsky, according to the statement.
Bauerlein will lead the strategic direction of Tech Data’s IT VAR customer channel and relationships in the United States, as well as developing new growth opportunities for Tech Data and its channel partners. He also will be responsible for developing Tech Data’s U.S. sales plan. He will report to Joe Quaglia, president of the Americas.
“Pete’s extensive IT channel experience and network of relationships make him uniquely qualified for his new strategic position,” said Dutkowsky in a statement. “Marty is a proven leader who is adept at building a high-performing sales culture and helping our partners grow. With the IT VAR market playing a key role in Tech Data’s U.S. growth strategy, he is a natural fit to lead our U.S. Sales organization to the next level.”
Peterson joined Tech Data in 1996 and has served as senior vice president of U.S. Sales since 2010, according to the company. Bauerlein most recently served as vice president of U.S. VAR Sales, and spent time at Ingram Micro prior to joining Tech Data.
Earlier this month, Tech Data announced the launch of its new Mobility Solutions and Retail division, headed by Senior Vice President Patrick Stokes.
Former vice president of Tech Data’s Consumer Technology and Integrated Supply Chain Services Shaun Sinden was also promoted to vice president and general manager of ISCS, Americas, with the start of the new division.
