A well-known person from the channel has joined Telarus, and another will be working alongside the tech services brokerage.

The first is Julie Dzubay, who accepted the role of vice president of commission experience for Utah-based Telarus. The second, Richard Fry, won’t actually be working for Telarus, but he has joined Lumen as a channel manager overseeing Lumen’s relationship with the company.

Dzubay will oversee commissions at Telarus, which includes ensuring that concerns are being escalated to vendors and answered. Those concerns relate to both residual commissions and one-time SPIF payments.

“Historically commissions have been challenging for this channel, and we look forward to making this experience pleasant, non-stressful, and financially rewarding for our partners,” said Bryce Hayes, senior vice president of operations. “Julie is the perfect person to help us execute this vision, and we can’t wait for our partners to benefit from her leadership.”

Here’s our list of channel people on the move in January.

Dzubay comes to Telarus from AppSmart, where she most recently worked as director of strategic provider management. She spent three years at WTG, which AppDirect bought in 2019. WTG agents knew her as the vice president of sales operations.

Dzubay worked at Integra/Electric Lightwave before WTG. She also worked for Cable & Wireless, Cady Communications and Eschelon Telecom.

He technology career spans 33 years.

Lumen Hire

Richard Fry joined Lumen Technologies as senior national channel manager. He will support Telarus channel partners in the role.

“I have worked closely with Telarus and their partners in a variety of roles over the years, and I look forward to driving continued, mutual growth for Lumen and Telarus in 2022 and beyond,” Fry wrote on LinkedIn.

Fry left Mitel in November, after that company announced a strategic partnership with RingCentral. The alliance spelled the end of the road for Mitel’s MiCloud Connect UCaaS offering and many of its channel personnel. Fry has also worked as a national channel manager for TW Telecom (2012-2015) and Level 3 Communications (2015-2018).
