Security and disaster recovery solution provider Unitrends has appointed former McAfee president Kevin Weiss as the company’s new president and CEO.
Prior to his appointment, Weiss was the chairman and CEO of Xhibit, the parent company of SkyMall, according to the announcement. He has served in several executive level positions at companies including Author Solutions, Ariba, BMC Software and IBM in addition to his tenure as the head of McAfee.
“What attracted me to Unitrends was the opportunity to work with such a passionate group of professionals who are focused on building and deploying a best-of-breed product portfolio,” said Weiss, in a statement. “My immediate focus will be to help the company accelerate its domestic growth rate, expand internationally and create even more value for our customers, partners and investors.”
Weiss’ appointment follows on the heels of the company’s recent appointment of Brad Miller as chief financial officer in November.
Unitrends also promoted several company veterans as part of its senior management restructuring process, including Mark Campbell’s dual appointment as chief marketing officer and chief technology officer and James Leg as executive vice president of worldwide field operations.
