Tintri, manufacturer of virtual machine (VM)-aware storage appliances, announced the launch of the Lightning partner program to support and its reseller channel.

Program benefits include joint channel development and business planning, an exclusive partner portal, deal registration, co-marketing, training and technical support. The portal gives users access to a variety of selling tools, including videos, training, collateral, partner program documents and other information.

Among the current partners in the program are Avnet, Solid State Solutions Limited (S3) and Ventura Business Systems. Ivoxy Consulting and Champion Solutions Group incorporated Tintri into their service practices and training programs to help customers architect, deploy, manage, and optimize their virtualized environments, Tintri noted in a company release.

While the program offers different levels of criteria and benefits specifically designed for resellers and distributors, all authorized partners have access to sales training and enablement tools through the partner portal, and the investment partners make in discovering new opportunities are complimented through a deal registration process.

The company’s virtualization storage offering provides customers with integrated monitoring, visibility, scalability and performance in a single solution. Tintri designed its architecture specifically for virtualization, with a file system optimized for flash memory.

Tintri was co-founded by Kieran Harty, who formerly led development as executive vice president of engineering at VMware.  The team also includes industry experts from Citrix, Data Domain, Google, NetApp, Riverbed and VMware.

In July, the company announced it raised $25 million, bringing the Tintri’s total capital raised to over $60 million. Tintri said it plans to use the additional funding to accelerate research and development and sales operations, as well as to support continued expansion.
