HPE announced a handful of expanded and new offerings on its GreenLake ecosystem, as well as AI and cloud solutions, at its HPE Discover partner conference this week in Las Vegas. Here’s a rundown of the highlights before HPE CEO Antonio Neri fleshes them out in his Tuesday morning keynote. Expect AI – and how it can help customers collect, manage and process data in new ways – to take center stage.

“Data continues to explode and grow on a level we’ve never seen before. But in the last six months, technology has advanced at a tremendous pace,” Neri said Monday during his opening remarks to partners. “This is why large language models will hopefully unlock the value of that data at speeds that are required to solve some of the biggest business and societal challenges. I think there’s also a business revolution behind the technology, which HPE is on the forefront of.

Some of the New Offerings

  • HPE’s OpsRamp’s operations management SaaS solutions are now available on GreenLake. The solutions include AI-driven operations, full-stack visibility and automation across multi-vendor, multi-cloud environments. OpsRamp added asset and application visibility to its new sustainability dashboard, designed to help organizations reduce their IT-related carbon footprint.

  • GreenLake added SaaS offerings for backup and machine learning and SaaS solutions on the AWS marketplace, and extended its Network-as-a-service (NaaS) portfolio. The expanded AWS offering includes the delivery of HPE’s NonStop Development Environment as an Amazon Machine Image  and HPE Fraud Risk Management as SaaS in AWS Marketplace.

  • GreenLake’s new backup and recovery capabilities protect on-premises and cloud databases managed by Microsoft SQL Server and Amazon Relational Database Service.

  • The HPE Machine Learning Development Environment is now available through GreenLake for high performance computing. It’s designed to optimize AI infrastructure and machine learning software through GreenLake.

  • The data center switching portfolio of HPE Aruba Networking CX 8000, HPE Aruba Networking 9000 and HPE Aruba Networking 10000 series is now available as a NaaS offer. Two new HPE GreenLake for Aruba networking service packs allow partners to expand into data center networking and bundle their design and delivery services with a monthly NaaS subscription through GreenLake.

  • HPE expanded GreenLake for Private Cloud Enterprise (PCE) to address edge use cases and provide container support for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform for self-provisioning workloads with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and VMware. GreenLake PCE’s new capabilities can connect to thousands of distributed IT locations to provide managed services for cloud native and traditional applications.

  • HPE unveiled the new GreenLake for Private Cloud Business Edition (PCBE). It allows customers to spin up virtual machines (VMS) across hybrid clouds on demand and self-manage their private cloud from VMs to infrastructure. Customers can store, manage and protect data across on-premise, edges and public clouds with self-service flexibility, pay up-front or pay-as-you-go.

  • HPE expanded GreenLake for the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) pay-per-use solution with pre-configured and tested HPE cloud modules optimized for VCF. Management of VCF through GreenLake enables enterprise IT to shift resources depending on business demands and avoid overprovisioning by providing customers with a secure, self-service hybrid cloud running on fully managed HPE infrastructure.

  • HPE and Equinix expanded their partnership to pre-provision GreenLake PCE and PCBE at Equinix International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers, giving global customers rapid access to private cloud offerings. GreenLake for PCE and PCBE will be pre-provisioned and available on a rolling basis starting in August at Equinix IBX centers serving Washington, D.C.; Silicon Valley; Toronto; London; Frankfurt; Singapore; and Sydney, with more locations coming.
