Check Point Joins Juniper, Palo Alto on Verizon Virtual Network Services Platform
Verizon is building a stable of security providers for this offering.
Verizon had added a new technology provider to help it secure customers’ network applications in public and hybrid cloud environments.
Check Point Software Technologies has embedded its security offering in Verizon Virtual Network Services (VNS). Verizon says it is building an “ecosystem” of technology partners that will help businesses securely deploy and control virtual networks. Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper and Cisco already have integrated their security offering into Verizon Virtual Network Services.
“Cybersecurity in the cloud is currently fragmented, made up of mainly ‘detection only’ based solutions and fails to protect enterprises from current or future cyber-attacks,” said Pierre-Paul Allard, head of worldwide sales for Check Point. “Check Point Infinity is a fully consolidated cybersecurity architecture that provides the high-level, pre-emptive threat prevention across networks, cloud and mobile devices, and we are delighted that it is now available to users of Verizon Virtual Network Services.”
Verizon’s Shawn Hakl
Check Point provides threat integration and transparency into virtual traffic. Verizon says the combined offering, “Virtual Network Services – Security with Check Point,” defends a variety of workloads and data in data centers, customer buildings and in virtual cloud locations.
Shawn Hakl, Verizon’s vice president of new products and innovation, says customers are getting flexibility to help them with their networks.
“With Verizon Virtual Network Services, our customers can deploy network services as applications that traditionally are provided over multiple appliances, on demand, via a centralized orchestration engine complete with closed-loop service assurance,” Hakl said.
Verizon announced two weeks ago that customers could use its VNS to help gain visibility and control of their Amazon Web Services transactions. The company also added Versa Networks to its software-defined networking platform.
