CloudOpt and RightScale are teaming up to speed up the movement of customer data to and from RightScale-supported clouds.

CloudOpt, a specialist in WAN optimization for the cloud, and RightScale, a cloud computing management firm, announced their partnership with an eye on speedy data transfers. According to CloudOpt, “customers can reduce data transfer times and costs by up to 95 percent.”

With the partnership, RightScale cloud customers can use CloudOpt’s CloudOptimizer ServerTemplate on RightScale to boost cloud application access and accelerate data movement. CloudOptimizer reduces data transfer levels by using CloudOpt’s Jetstream technology, which includes de-duplication, compression and application-specific optimizations. Customers can use CloudOptimizer for cloud backup, archival, and database replication to enable rapid synchronization and updates.

“Given that 87 percent of compute power managed through RightScale comes from companies using multiple clouds, CloudOpt’s solution addresses a real need for our customers by reducing the time and quantity of data traveling between clouds, resulting in improvements to both performance and cost,” said Bailey Caldwell, VP of Business Development at RightScale, in a prepared statement.

CloudOpt provides “virtualized network services that enable businesses to accelerate and secure cloud application access and data movement in the cloud,” payable on a variable usage model. The company has operations in Silicon Valley, Seattle and Belfast, Northern Ireland, and are compatible with vendors such as Amazon Web Services (NASDAQ: AMZN), HP Cloud Services (NYSE: HPQ) and now Right Scale. CloudOpt is also a member of OpenStack.
