Dimension Data and IT services provider NTT Data have partnered on a new set of end-to-end services designed to help customers same time and money when moving their SAP applications to the cloud.

The services, which couple Dimension Data’s SAP Cloud certified data centers with NTT Data’s implementation, migration and application management services, are expected to help make the transition away from legacy on-premise applications smoother for those looking to migrate to cloud-based apps.

Increasing customer demand to help ease the self-service management of cloud applications led Dimension Data to partner with sister company NTT Data, said Steve Nola, Dimension Data’s group executive.

“Until recently, clients found that self-service provisioning is complete, while self-service management of applications in the cloud remains challenging,” said Nola, in a statement. “That’s why Dimension Data is providing software and hands-on attention that will provide our enterprises with the confidence to move their SAP licenses to the Dimension Data cloud.”

Dimension Data’s Managed Cloud Platform is currently available in 16 data centers around the world, and provides services to support SAP applications, according to the announcement. The new services will allow clients to work with a hybrid cloud model that allows SAP to simultaneously run on Dimension Data’s private MCP within the client’s data center and utilize shared public MCP for pre-production tasks.

The announcement comes on the heels of last week’s SAP Sapphire Now conference in Orlando, where the German-based enterprise software vendor added several new cloud additions to its portfolio. Company president of Global Partner Operations Rodolpho Cardenuto was also on hand to discuss SAP’s partner strategy during the SAP Global Partner Summit.
