Cloud-based file sharing and business continuity technology provider eFolder has forged a new partnership with Replibit, a provider of image-based backup and disaster recovery. The two companies announced the relationship at today’s Autotask Community Live! Conference in Miami, and also announced the general availability of eFolder BDR for Replibit.
eFolder BDR for Replibit is an image-based backup and disaster recovery service that captures backups of a server every few minutes and replicates them to the eFolder Cloud. The system offers fast local or offsite recovery in the event of a server failure or site-wide disaster, the companies said.
“We are taking the software, bundling it in our cloud, offering it to partners at a single bundled rate,” eFolder VP of Marketing Ted Hulsy told me.
And here’s what eFolder’s CEO said about the deal in the official statement from the company: “eFolder is proud to announce a service that combines Replibit’s chain-free backup and deep backup verification technology with generous amounts of cloud storage, our silent data corruption protection technology, and powerful cloud recovery capabilities. These combined features uniquely empower channel partners to deliver high assurance, low labor business continuity services for SMB Windows environments.”
eFolder said that the combined offering also features the following:
Replibit backup software, featuring chain-free backup technology, which reduces storage requirements and the costs and risks associated with dependent backup chains
Deep data verification and file system integrity checking of every snapshot
Automated screenshot verifications of backups, minimizing time and labor through daily automated DR testing
Local and off-site recovery options, offering multiple forms of protection in the event of a server failure or site-wide disaster, including file-level restores and fast virtualization of backups
eFolder BDR for Replibit is built on a Linux Ubuntu hardened kernel and can run on most industry standard machines, with no need for a Windows OS license, enabling competitive upgrades from legacy equipment. So far mostly larger MSPs have used the technology, often with their own private clouds. The partnership with eFolder gives MSPs that don’t operate their own clouds access to the technology. eFolder is offering 2 TB of data for each protected server in the cloud.
“Replibit’s modern backup technology now makes BDR easy for partners to deploy and manage,” said Replibit CEO Andrew Bensinger, in a prepared statement. “Partnering with eFolder lets us complement Replibit’s powerful software capabilities with the proven scale, durability, and reliability of the eFolder Cloud. With eFolder BDR for Replibit, partners can rest-assured that their backups are safe, verified and recoverable in the cloud.”
eFolder’s partnership with Replibit follows eFolder’s strategy to support a variety of BDR providers in the eFolder cloud including Acronis, AppAssure, Veeam, and ShadowProtect.
