FortyCloud, Numergy Partner for Localized Clouds
Numergy and FortyCloud partner to provide localized cloud offerings as an alternative to the global public cloud services.

Not every organization is willing to put their trust in one of the global public cloud services providers; and that’s something cloud provider Numergy and security-as-a-service provider FortyCloud are hoping to capitalize on.
The two companies have partnered to “address the growing demand for cloud localization.” This goes along well with FortyCloud’s tagline of “make your public cloud private.” As for Numergy, the Paris-based cloud services provider is a small infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) provider that is marketing itself as an alternative to the big American providers.
Much of this partnership revolves around improving the security of Numergy’s existing cloud services while trying to present a local public cloud alternative. Using FortyCloud’s technology, which is a blend of software-defined networking (SDN) and software-defined security (SDS), Numergy will present what it believes to be a comprehensive cloud security suite.
The companies quoted Forrester Research (FORR) statistics in their press release, noting that “the revelation of the NSA’s surveillance program (a.k.a. PRISM) has served as a wake-up call for many organizations to revisit the security and privacy policies of their cloud infrastructure providers. In particular, many organizations are now reconsidering cloud providers and opting for a geographic local to their country of origin (and are governed by ‘familiar’ privacy laws).”

For FortyCloud, it also means an expansion of its European presence.
“This partnership will enable us to broaden our reach into the European cloud market, where we know that security is of utmost concern to both cloud providers and their business customers,” said Amit Cohen, co-founder and CEO of FortyCloud, in a prepared statement. “Leveraging FortyCloud’s distinct solution, Numergy can further enhance and extend added security safeguards that it is able to provide to its cloud customers.”
According to FortyCloud and Numergy, turning on the security features is easy for customers.
