Freeborders Launches SAP2Cloud Assessment Tool

Solutions provider and IT consultancy Freeborders has released a new tool to help customers use their SAP environments to get cloud-ready sooner. The new SAP2Cloud “business solutions accelerator” aids customers and integrators in assessing existing SAP environments, designing implementations and conducting SAP migrations to the cloud.

The trend of “accelerating” the move to the cloud continues with this new tool, and, according to Freeborders, SAP2Cloud can help businesses make their IT infrastructure more scalable and flexible within three months.

“The cost of managing expiring hardware, bandwidth usage, and the ever-growing need for manpower are business hurdles of the past. Companies now have access to technology solutions that are executable within 90 days to act on business opportunities quickly,” said Graham Bolton, executive vice president at Freeborders Consulting, in a prepared statement. “Especially cloud technology has opened up new opportunities for companies to reduce their infrastructure and long-term support costs. Freeborders’ SAP2Cloud enables companies to get the greatest ROI from their existing SAP environment and grow their business faster than ever.”

Freeborders may be jumping the gun a little (or a lot) on calling the war on managing costs over, but getting to the cloud quicker is an ever-present challenge businesses are dealing with. And that means an opportunity for the channel to help their customers jump those hurdles (can you tell its Olympics season?) and make the transition to cloud computing — whether it’s private, public or hybrid — as simple and smooth as possible.

At the same time it launched the tool, Freeborders touted a customer win with Pentax Ricoh Imaging Americas, most commonly known simply as Pentax, which used SAP2Cloud to migrate its SAP systems to the public cloud in three months. According to Freeborders and Pentax, the transition eliminated capital costs because Pentax didn’t have to replace dated hardware, while also reducing operating costs.
