GFI Max Director of Engineering Mark Petrie (left) and GFI Max Mail General Manager Eric Schwab (right) reveal the roadmap for MSPs at GFI Max U.S. Customer Conference 2013.

GFI Max unveiled its new file sharing service called SendItBetter at the GFI Max U.S. Customer Conference 2013 recently, and the solution received a high praise from managed services providers (MSPs) in the room. But where is GFI Max in the launching process?

The official launch of the file sharing service will be in the first quarter of 2014 and will offer full rebranding capabilities to MSPs, GFI Max Mail General Manager Eric Schwab told MSPmentor. Schwab said GFI Max is expecting to release a public beta at the end of the fourth quarter. MSPs will not be able to leverage full rebranding capabilities with the public beta release.

GFI Max’s rebranding pitch to MSPs revolves around free advertising. MSPs pushing this file sharing service out to customers will be able to brand the service to fit advertising needs.

MSPs will additionally be able to leverage SendItBetter for free (yes, for free), which opens up the possibility of generating more revenue. GFI Max told MSPs at the conference that they can charge customers a fee for using the service.

He added that SendItBetter will not be integrated with any GFI Max solution at the launch of the service.

Schwab also talked about how SendItBetter differentiates from popular file sharing services like Dropbox, Box or any of the other file sharing alernatives for businesses.

“Dropbox provides long-term file storage and synchronization,” he said. “SendItBetter is an easy-to-use, web-based utility to allow the secure transfer of files.”

When a user uploads a file, the file is encrpyted and stored in the cloud. The recipient of the file will then receive a hyperlink via email to gain access to the uploaded file.

“The service is designed to be very simple, very easy to use, fully re-brandable, and absolutely free of charge,” Schwab said. “SendItBetter is designed from the ground up for MSPs and other IT solution providers.”
