IDrive Brings Hybrid Cloud Backup to Users
Hybrid backup is now a reality for IDrive users looking to store data locally as well as in the cloud.
Hybrid cloud-based backup is now a reality for IDrive users. The Calabasas, California-based cloud storage provider on Thursday said its users can now back up their data locally as well as in the cloud by leveraging new hybrid cloud functionality.
The offering includes 256-bit AES encryption along with what it calls “military-grade private key encryption.” The company said this new feature adds another layer of protection for both data stored in the cloud and local backup.
“Hybrid backup was a feature our users demanded, adding local and cloud backup together was a natural step,” IDrive CEO Raghu Kulkarni said in a statement. “Now IDrive users can have the best of both worlds with the ability to have their data secure on the local level as well in the cloud.”
IDrive’s new hybrid backup functionality is also available to users who need to backup their SQL, Sharepoint, Exchange and Oracle data. Both Pro Personal and Pro Business plans are available.
IDrive in August introduced a new service called IDrive DataCenter to allow off-site management by enabling customers to backup, restore and administer or schedule tasks remotely from an IT administrator’s mobile device.
