AT&T (T) and Blue Jeans Network announced a partnership at Gartner Symposium to provide on-demand video collaboration services to AT&T’s business customers. The joint effort will allow businesses using AT&T Video Meetings with Blue Jeans to host work sessions on nearly any desktop, mobile device or conference room equipped for video, according to AT&T.

“Today, people expect convenient and effective ways to work together whether they are in the office, at home or on the road,” said Abhi Ingle, senior vice president, Advanced Solutions, AT&T Mobile and Business Solutions, in a statement. “We’re taking complexity out of the equation. From mobile to desktop to the conference room, AT&T Video Meetings with Blue Jeans gives people the tools they need to collaborate over video, virtually whenever and wherever.”

AT&T expects the partnership to meet a growing customer need for video collaboration by harnessing Blue Jeans’ cloud-based video conferencing services. The company cited a recent survey by Instantl.ly, which found that 95 percent of business professionals surveyed said video collaboration improves business relationships. The survey also confirmed the longstanding belief that an overwhelming majority of professionals prefer videoconferencing to discuss sensitive HR issues, meet with customers and connect with remote managers.

“Despite all the advances in modern technology, the most powerful tool for business still remains the human face,” said Krish Ramakrishnan, CEO of Blue Jeans Network. “Blue Jeans and AT&T share a goal of helping business customers collaborate face to face even when distance gets in the way. The power of our interactive video platform combined with AT&T’s industry-leading mobile network lets customers work together and more effectively.”

Last month, AT&T also announced a new open API platform to help solution providers customize the quoting and ordering experience for their sales teams and business customers.
