You don’t have to be a big, publicly held software company like Salesforce.com or a massive integrator to succeed as an applications service provider (ASP). Just ask Data393, which has won a contract to provide a hosted Windows environment to the City of Cherry Hills Village, located in Arapahoe County just south of Denver.

The forthcoming site, slated to launch this quarter, will allow residents to access emergency-related resources and safety programs. Still, designing such systems requires deep pockets. Data393 has invested more than $30 million into a fully staffed, state-of-the-art hosting facility.
