Dimension Data Launches Managed Services for Data Centers
Dimension Data (DDT) has deployed globally standardized managed services for data centers that are designed to help enterprises become more agile, efficient, mobile and secure.
Information and communications technology (ICT) services provider Dimension Data (DDT) has launched globally standardized managed services for data centers that are designed to help enterprises become more agile, efficient, mobile and secure.
Dimension Data’s managed services for data centers enables users to control their networks, servers and storage for cloud, hybrid and on-premise data centers.
“Our globally standardized offering provides world-class, integrated service management technologies that are administered by highly specialized technical engineers,” Kevin Leahy, group manager for Dimension Data’s data center business unit, told MSPmentor.
Steve Joubert, Dimension Data’s group executive for data centers, said his company’s managed services provide:
A consistent service experience for both local and multinational enterprises
Support for multi-vendor environments
The ability to deliver outcomes-based service-level agreements (SLAs) to customers
“We’re seeing a shift away from clients owning and managing their own data center to outsourcing the entire infrastructure or the management of the environment,” Joubert said in a prepared statement. “With managed services for data centers, clients maintain technology flexibility while we automate routine transactional and knowledge work across the network, server and storage for on-premise and cloud environments.”
Dimension Data launches Canadian cloud data center
Dimension Data announced earlier this year it would quadruple the size of its data center business to $4 billion by 2018, and its new managed services could help the ICT services provider reach its goal.
Leahy added he believes Dimension Data’s managed services for data centers will play an important role in his company’s growth.
“We’re seeing a shift in the market — with technology often outpacing the ability for companies to derive ROI from it without adjusting management processes. This is leading many organizations to investigate managed services. Managed service providers can add value by automating processes for clients and helping them make the most of their technology investments,” he said.
Dimension Data also launched a Toronto-based cloud data center this month to expand its global presence.
Greg Walker, Dimension Data Canada’s cloud services business development manager, told MSPmentor the new data center enables his company to better support its channel partners.
“Cloud and data center services are key to our business worldwide, and we’ll continue to launch related services that bring value to our clients,” Walker said.
