Infoblox (BLOX) has named Cisco Systems (CSCO) veteran Jesper Andersen as president and CEO effective Dec. 8, according to the company.
Andersen will replace Robert Thomas, who announced in May that he intended to leave the company, according to the press release. Thomas is expected to take on an executive adviser position for about four months during the transition.
“Jesper Andersen brings a unique set of skills to Infoblox, with a deep understanding of networking technology, experience in running and growing complex global businesses, and a clear vision of how the shift from hardware-defined to software-defined networking infrastructure will create new market opportunities,” said Thomas in a statement.
Andersen served in several roles during his tenure at Cisco from 2008 to 2013, most notably as senior vice president for Network Management, according to the announcement. He also served in leadership positions including senior vice president of Application Strategy at Oracle (ORCL) and as general manager and group vice president for Tools and Technology at PeopleSoft.
“This is an incredibly important time in network services, with many changes on the horizon,” said Andersen. “I’m excited to join Infoblox because the company has a well-earned reputation among its customers for quality, innovation, and leadership, a reputation that makes it possible for Infoblox to both grow its existing business and move in new directions from a position of strength.”
