Brocade Buys Vistapointe Visibility, Analytics for Mobile Network Operators
Brocade has acquired Vistapointe in an attemp to grow its MNOs portfolio.
Brocade (BRCD) on Monday announced it has acquired Vistapointe to grow its network mobile network operators (MNOs) portfolio. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Headquartered in San Jose, California, the networking solutions provider said the deal will provide MNOs with additional software-based, carrier-grade network visibility and analytics solutions focused on network functions virtualization (NFV) architectures.
“By acquiring Vistapointe’s technologies, Brocade will deliver an end-to-end network visibility solution that spans hardware and software architectures, and enables MNOs to better service the needs of their stakeholders,” Brocade Data Center Networking Group Vice President Jason Nolet told Talkin’ Cloud.
He added: “In addition to enhancing the Brocade NFV technology portfolio, the Vistapointe acquisition directly complements the existing Brocade MLX-based IP telemetry solution to provide MNOs with an end-to-end network intelligence solution.”
“We have a focused M&A strategy that leverages emerging, disruptive technologies, such as SDN and NFV, and industry transitions to deliver next-generation networking solutions that are open, virtual and simple,” he said.
Nolet declined to disclose whether Brocade considered other companies before finally settling on Vistapointe. He said the acquisition “affirms our commitment to to disrupt the status quo of the networking industry.”
