Cloud Computing Concepts (C3), the provider of technology and communications services to businesses, has completed its acquisition of the South Florida Digital Alliance’s (SFDA) service-provider division.

SFDA is a nonprofit association of local anchor institutions representing government, health care, education, nonprofit organizations and the private sector. The for-profit service provider division has been providing connectivity, colocation and internet access throughout South Florida since 2009.

Its client list includes several cities, universities, schools, nonprofits and large commercial accounts.

C3’s Rick Mancinelli

Rick Mancinelli, C3’s founder and CEO, tells channel Partners that, from a technical perspective, the acquisition adds bandwidth, peering partners, carrier relationships, regional redundancy and colocation capacity.

“From a business perspective, the government, education and large enterprise accounts serve as proof that C3 and its partners are ready to handle nearly any challenge,” he said. “Once the transfer of SFDA’s GSA schedule to C3 has been completed, our partners will now have the ability to sell products and services to government customers. Our partners will also gain the ability to provision colocation space and interconnect with hundreds of providers within South Florida’s premier data center, the network access point (NAP) of the Americas.”

C3 has been managing the SFDA’s service provider division since January, Mancinelli said. As a result, much of the technical and support-related integration work already is done, he said. Billing integration is in process now and should wrap up in the next two to three months.

The SFDA didn’t have any partners.

“Completing this sale allows the SFDA to focus on fulfilling our mission of expanding access to technology and increasing digital literacy throughout the greater South Florida community,” said Don Slesnick III, SFDA’s executive director.

C3 will continue to be a supporter and member of the SFDA and will provide in-kind services for internal operations, equipment donations and support for the Technology Learning Center initiative.

In addition to cloud computing, C3 offers technology support, IT strategy and consulting, disaster recovery and network security.
