IBM (IBM) on Wednesday said it has completed the acquisition of Fiberlink Communications, a privately-held mobile device management (MDM) and security company. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Big Blue initially released the details of the acquisition in mid-November, stating that Fiberlink’s mobility platform will become part of IBM’s software as a service (SaaS) portfolio and will be offered on the IBM SoftLayer cloud infrastructure.

IBM Cloud and Smart Infrastructure General Manager Deepak Advani said in a statement that “no other company can match the high level of mobile management and security capabilities that IBM MobileFirst provides across a full range of users.”

Advani also said Big Blue will continue to increase the number of cloud-based services to “help eliminate barriers to adoption and speed results.”

With regards to Fiberlink’s partners, Caleb Barlow, IBM’s director of application, data and mobile security, told Talkin’ Cloud back in November that Fiberlink’s business partners will be able to receive additional benefits through the IBM Partnerworld program.

“Fiberlink partners will continue to operate within the existing Fiberlink MaaSters Partner Program, and will conduct business as usual, using their current contract, terms and program structure,” Fiberlink CEO Jim Sheward said in a November interview with Talkin’ Cloud.
