Presidio, a professional managed services provider, has acquired consulting, integration and services company Sequoia Worldwide for an undisclosed sum, the company announced on Monday.

Sequoia, which specializes in private and hybrid cloud solution implementation, will operate as the Cloud Business Unit for Presidio and conduct business as Sequoia Cloud Solutions, a Presidio Company.

Presidio plans to use the company’s cloud services expertise to expand its existing portfolio of cloud solutions, according to the announcement.

“The acquisition of Sequoia continues our leadership in advising, architecting and implementing solutions that enable our customers to derive maximum value from their cloud investments,” said Bob Cagnazzi, CEO of Presidio, in a statement. “Sequoia’s cloud expertise enhances Presidio’s capability to advise customers on the optimal way to leverage both private and public cloud resources to develop the optimal hybrid model that will deliver scalable, secure, high performing service delivery models for our clients.”

In addition to Sequoia’s familiarity with cloud technology from software vendors such as Cisco Systems (CSCO), VMware (VMW), Microsoft (MSFT) and OpenStack, Presidio said it will leverage the company’s intellectual property in cloud management and brokerage technologies to help customers interface with public cloud services.

Sequoia is also expected to benefit from the availability of additional resources through Presidio, which will allow the company to create an industry-leading cloud solutions practice and accelerate overall cloud adoption, according to Doug Kryzan, Sequoia co-founder and managing partner.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to be part of Presidio,” said Steve Hanney, co-founder and managing partner of Sequoia. “The addition of Sequoia will help Presidio drive innovation and improve business outcomes of its customers and business partners through innovative cloud services that accelerate time to market and create a competitive advantage.”
