He said his firm generates much of its business from UCaaS. Many of its existing customers have been migrating their legacy communications to the cloud recently. However, the migration process opens the door up for cross-selling.
“Before we can even have those conversations, our customers are coming to us saying, ‘Hey, we don’t even have the LAN or WAN infrastructure in place to build upon, so let’s have those conversations first,'” Duggan said.
In addition, greenBee has been growing its energy business as well as contact center.
An XO Communications (XO) study of business and IT decision-makers at 426 enterprise and small and medium-sized organizations revealed UC currently is helping many organizations become more productive and efficient. The study, titled "The State of Unified Communications," showed that 87 percent of respondents said the benefits of UC met or exceeded their expectations.
Corvisa in February launched a channel partner program designed to help the Milwaukee-based cloud communications solutions provider expand globally. Under its channel partner program, Corvisa began offering participants its contact center suite, phone system and Summit Platform as a complete solution or à la carte.
BroadSoft (BSFT) in June added a customer experience product provider to its portfolio. The unified communications and collaboration (UCC) services company acquired mPortal, a McLean, Virginia-based customer experience product provider.
ShoreTel (SHOR) this month announced plans to acquire Corvisa for approximately $8.5 million. ShoreTel said the acquisition is expected to help the company enhance its cloud communications portfolio and accelerate its fiscal 2017 hosted revenue growth to at or around 30 percent.
Mitel (MITL) in October unveiled new products and services for mobile enterprise users. The cloud communications company said its new mobile enterprise portfolio enables users to "decide how they connect with the device of their choice, cutting the traditional ties to the physical office environment, making the enterprise and mobile network seamless."
Vonage (VG) in August announced plans to add a unified communications-as-a-service (UCaaS) provider to its portfolio.The Holmdel, New Jersey-based communications services giant has reached an agreement to acquire iCore Networks for $92 million.
In January, 8×8 (EGHT) unveiled an integrated Virtual Office (VO) and Virtual Contact Center (VCC) platform. The cloud-based UC solutions provider said this platform could help companies boost their customer satisfaction levels and reduce the amount of time IT spends on basic "care and feeding" telephony tasks.
