Aerohive Networks — a company that delivers enterprise WiFi solutions — recently released the latest upgrades to its HiveOS 5.1 and HiveManager 5.1 systems. The new upgrades provide more granular control, management of the customers’ BYOD environments, and advanced reporting. Other enhancements include the Bonjour Gateway and recently announced JAMF Software Mobile Device Management (MDM) integration. Aerohive is also delivering two new 802.11n access points (APs): AP121 and AP141.

As part of a free upgrade to all customers with a valid support contract, Aerohive’s HiveOS 5.1 now provides end users with Bonjour Gateway and JAMF Software Mobile Device Management (MDM) integration. Aerohive’s Bonjour Gateway provides management and control of Apple’s “Zero-Configuration Networking” technology to make AirPrint and AirPlay services available across large, multi-subnet networks.

Both HiveManager and HiveManager Online 5.1 have been upgraded to version 5.1. This upgraded version includes enhanced reporting functionality, secure auto-configuration for branch routers and topology folders. HiveManager 5.1 also includes Topology Folders that simplify organizing multiple sets of Aerohive devices into logical groups.

Two new 2×2:2 802.11n access points (APs) — AP121 and AP141 — are being delivered with the company’s recent 5.1 release. High performance, better coverage, and lower error rates for high powered radios and high RX sensitivity are said to be the result from these new APs.

Aerohive’s AP121, AP141, HiveOS 5.1 and HiveManager 5.1 are available immediately. The starting price for AP121 and AP141 are is $649.
