Christy Wyatt, Good Technology
Secure enterprise mobility technology provider Good Technology Corp. has tapped industry powerhouse Christy Wyatt (pictured) as president and CEO. The veteran of Motorola Mobility and Apple will replace King Lee in the role. Lee will remain on the company’s board and serve as executive chairman, a role that will enable him to share institutional knowledge and consult on new products and services offerings. Here’s a look at what Wyatt brings and what it means for Good.Wyatt is a veteran of the space where business, mobility and security meet, putting her in a strong position to lead as mobile device management comes of age. That’s an arena where Good has played for years, back to when RIM and BlackBerry were the company and device of choice for enterprise users.
But the MDM space has grown more crowded, with new players emerging and other types of companies adding MDM functionality to their existing management offerings.
Wyatt’s job will be to lead Good in this competitive environment, making the most of investments the company has already made in mobile management.
And while we haven’t spoken with her, yet, a quick look at her resume shows that she has the experience for the job.
Wyatt brings more than 15 years of executive management and leadership experience in technology to the role. She most recently served as global head of Citi’s Consumer eBusiness and Mobile Technology unit, leading the teams responsible for consumer-facing applications for the internet, mobile and ATM channels for the company’s consumer banking business.
Before Citi, Wyatt served as SVP and General Manager for Motorola Mobility's Enterprise Business Unit. Prior to joining Motorola, she served as Worldwide Developer Relations Director at Apple. She has also served in a variety of leadership roles at Sun Microsystems, JavaSoft and ESRI.
“Christy brings tremendous leadership, experience, and vision in enterprise,” Lee said, in a prepared statement. “Her energy and enthusiasm for the space is palpable, and I know she will lead us to incredible heights and even greater success.”
Wyatt spent just six months in her last job at Citi, but found the opportunity to lead Good too compelling to pass up.
“As the Consumerization of IT continues, Good has the vision and the technology to truly indoctrinate a consumer understanding and preference for mobile technology to practical mobile business use, which will take the entire market to the next level,” Wyatt said in a prepared statement.
