South Korea-based electronics giant LG is trying to make a bigger name for itself in the smartphone space, and it’s ready to unveil a device that just might do that.

The company’s new flagship, the G2, is expected to make its debut in South Korea in August, then reach the U.S. and Europe sometime in September, LG’s CFO told a Korean website this week. An official unveiling of the device is scheduled for Aug. 7.

The G2 is expected to approach the size of many so-called "phablets," featuring a 5.2-inch screen a better bet for business users than many other smartphones on the market today. It could sport as much as 3GB of RAM and a 13MP camera, although those specifications are based primarily on leaked information. LG hasn’t come out with a lot of specific details.

LG CFO David Jung said in the article that Verizon would get the phone, but there have been indications from the FCC that AT&T and T-Mobile will also sell it in the U.S.
