A new report from market research provider BCC Research indicated the unified communication and collaboration (UC&C) market could grow significantly over the next few years.

The report revealed the global market for UC&C solutions rose from $22.6 billion in 2014 to $26.5 billion last year

In addition, BCC Research has predicted the global UC&C market could be worth nearly $62 billion by 2020.

Other report results included:

  • The on-premise UC&C system market was valued at $18.2 billion in 2015.

  • Hybrid UC&C deployment is the fastest growing segment of the global UC&C market, totaling $1.8 billion in 2015.

  • The on-premise UC&C system market could be worth $37.8 billion by 2020, while the hybrid UC&C segment could by worth $6.2 billion by 2020.

A recent IDG Enterprise study showed the demand for UC&C solutions is expected to increase this year as well.

IDG Enterprise’s “2015 Unified Communications and Collaboration” study, released in July, showed 56 percent of enterprises and 66 percent of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) planned to implement or upgrade UC&C solutions within the next year.

The study also revealed that 33 percent of organizations said they expected their UC&C budget to increase in the next 12 months.
