Broadview Networks has integrated its OfficeSuite Phone cloud-based unified communications (UC) solution with Microsoft (MSFT) Skype for Business

The company noted its new integration provides Skype for Business and Microsoft Lync 2013 users with UC support.

“Software applications … need to adapt to the modern user, matching both their preferences in technology and digital, mobile lifestyle,” Stephen Farkouh, Broadview’s executive vice president, said in a prepared statement. “We saw an opportunity to enrich the Skype for Business experience.”

Broadview noted Skype for Business and Lync users now can leverage numerous OfficeSuite Phone capabilities, including:

  • Click-to-call dialing from any location using their business phone number.

  • Call routing.

  • Auto attendants and call groups, without the need to purchase new phones, servers, hardware or any additional Microsoft licenses.

In addition, Broadview said Microsoft Office 365 users can take advantage of the integration to make cloud-based business calls.

Recent data indicates Skype for Business and Lync remain popular options for enterprise IT professionals as well.

A May 2015 No Jitter Research survey of 540 enterprise IT professionals showed that 52 percent of respondents have adopted Skype for Business/Lync.
