Verizon Wireless has launched a new prepaid program called Allset Plans that offer customers flexibility, increased data and more opportunities for customization.

The new Allset Plans offer prepaid options starting as low as $35 for basic phones and $45 for smartphones with unlimited messaging and 500 MB of data. And for a limited time, smartphone customers can double their monthly data to 1 GB by enrolling in Auto Pay.

The plans start at a flat fee with expansion options coming from the Bridge Data add-ons. $5 will get you 500 MB more that expires after 30 days, $10 will get 1 GB more expiring after 60 days, and $20 will get 2 GB expiring after 90 days. Customers can customize their plan by adding data to their accounts whenever they want.

The plans offer other perks such as mobile hotspot access and extra international minutes for new customers, as well.

This is the latest move in a pricing war among the big carriers. Verizon Wireless just last month unveiled new postpaid pricing plans after AT&T did the same a month earlier.
