Breakthrough Technology Group (BTG) has promoted Travis Sales to the newly created role of president, a little more than a year after hiring him as CIO.
The cloud and managed services provider, which targets enterprises, announced the appointment on Thursday.
Sales came to BTG from VMware, where he served as lead staff engineer. As BTG CIO, he oversaw all hosting services, platform development, data management and growth. Now, as president, he is responsible for the entire cloud and managed service business, rather than just infrastructure and process. In addition, he’ll execute company strategy, particularly when it comes to the private cloud and associated services.
Traviss performance in the industry, and with BTG, proves that he has both the vision and the innovative spirit to guide our companys continued growth,” said Jeff Kaplan, CEO and founder of BTG. “Not only does he understand the business on a technical level, but also from the end-user perspective, which provides tremendous value to BTGs partners and customers.”
BTG specializes in professional and managed services, including Exchange, SharePoint, private clouds, virtual desktop infrastructure and shared desktops. It also is the developer of the AppsAnyplace platform, which allows private, secure access to data across devices. The company is a certified Microsoft, Citrix and VMware partner.
