Media and telecommunications company Cablevision Systems Corp. has promoted Matthew Grover to senior vice president of sales operations and commercial sales.

Grover joined Cablevision in 2001. He’s been VP of sales operations since 2011. In his new role, he will continue leading the company’s sales operations department – which includes sales systems and technology, sales enablement and sales compensation – but he also will oversee the commercial sales organization, which is responsible for selling Cablevision’s Optimum Business products and services to commercial customers throughout the New York metropolitan area.

Optimum Business services are sold through channel partners.

“He will play an integral role in driving long-term sales and retention for Cablevision, supporting key efforts that continue to position the company as a premiere connectivity provider,” said Robert Sullivan, executive vice president of sales and marketing.

Cablevision serves millions of households and businesses in the greater New York area.

Also this month, wholesale technology products and services distributor Tech Data Corp. announced it has promoted Marc McClure to vice president of field sales, Eastern U.S., and Vince Stemen to vice president of field sales, West/Central U.S.

McClure has been serving as director of field sales for the eastern U.S. He led the company’s field-based selling resources, and assisted with the development of strategic initiatives and organizational planning for Tech Data’s VAR sales organization. He joined Tech Data in 2011.

Stemen most recently served as director of field sales for the western and central U.S. He led a team of field-based channel sales professionals, providing services and support for some of the nation’s leading IT resellers. He joined Tech Data in 2008.

“With their extensive channel experience and track record of success, I am confident that Marc and Vince will accelerate growth and raise the bar in Tech Data’s U.S. sales organization,” said Marty Bauerlein, senior vice president of U.S. sales. “Both are proven leaders who have built high-performing sales teams that are committed to delivering value to our customers and providing the best customer experience in the IT channel.”

Tech Data generated $27.7 billion in net sales for the fiscal year that ended Jan. 31, 2015.
