Intelisys' Justin Marano
Intelisys, the master agent and tech distributor, named Justin Marano its new VP of sales for the Northeast. It's a promotion from director of Northeast sales.
Marano said he'll support the "remarkable growth" of Intelisys subagents. His career includes a long run at XO Communications.

Effortless' Sonya Meline
Effortless Office, the cloud and security provider, promoted Sonya Ziegler Meline to chief sales and marketing officer; previously, she was vice president of sales and marketing.
Meline will spearhead reorganizing the sales, sales engineers and marketing teams in an effort to improve the markets that Effortless serves.

Effortless' Christopher Apostolof
Effortless wasn't done with Meline's promotion. The company also brought back former employee Christopher Apostolof as principal infrastructure engineer.
Apostolof has 25 years of IT experience, including a previous stint at Effortless. His most recent job was with CDK Global.

Powernet's Penny Thurnau
Eighteen-year Powernet veteran Penny Thurnau is the company's new vice president of strategic alliances, a step up from her role as director of network and carrier services.
Thurnau will work with various indirect sales agents through Powernet's channel program, as well as vendors and technology partners to create and execute engagement strategies to generate growth for both Powernet and its partners.

Aryaka's Matt Carter
As the new chief executive at Aryaka, Matt Carter will be making important decisions that trickle down to partners.
Carter is the former Sprint VP of enterprise and IoT. One of his goals is to elevate a company that he calls "the best kept secret" in the industry.
Carter speaks highly of the SD-WAN provider's channel partners, saying that the company is “interested in helping them help us make money.”

Cisco's Andrew Sage
Cisco just promoted Andrew Sage, its VP of Americas distribution for the past five years, to VP, global distribution sales.
He's tasked with managing all aspects of sales, marketing, strategy, operations and logistics for Cisco's worldwide distribution channel. That includes nurturing and growing the company's two-tier channel partners.
Sage replaces Julie Hens, who spent the last five years in the role before taking on a new role with Cisco herself. Get to know Sage.
Datto's Austin McChord
Austin McChord, CEO of Datto, announced he would step aside from the chief-executive post at the company he founded 11 years ago in his parents' basement. He will remain on the board of directors.
“The decision I made was a very personal one,” he told Democrat & Chronicle news. “I’ve basically done Datto my entire life. It’s been a 24/7, 365 job. And a life that is just Datto is not a life well lived.”

Carbonite's Rob Beeler
Carbonite, the data-protection provider, promoted Rob Beeler to senior vice president of products and engineering.
Beeler previously was VP of engineering at Carbonite, responsible for the design and development of the company's server portfolio. He has 25 years of software development and management experience.

Infosec Institute's Mike Nobers
Infosec Institute, which provides IT security education and workforce security awareness training, launched a new partner program for MSPs, VARs and OEMs — hiring Mike Nobers to lead it.
Nobers, most recently director of partner channel and alliances at Wombat Security Technologies (now Proofpoint), says InfoSec previously had a reseller agreement and would work with partners, but it was more of a "one-off opportunity."

Infovista's John Howes
Infovista has a new channel chief.
The SD-WAN vendor named John Howes is SVP of global channel sales. He's a veteran of Oracle and Acme Packet. Howes has been building learning resources, post-sales support and an easier on-boarding process, while driving partner recruitment, in the short time since he joined the company.

Commvault's Rick Fairweather
Rick Fairweather (pictured) is a veteran channel exec who left Veritas for a rival – Commvault – where he takes over as VP of channels for the Americas. Before Veritas, Fairweather was a longtime Cisco channel leader.
The backup and data-protection provider also named Mark Fong as VP or its Asia Pacific channel and alliances.
Intermedia's Scott Anderson
Intermedia appointed Scott Anderson, previously with Sitecore, to the role of chief marketing officer. He's in charge of all aspects of the company's integrated marketing efforts as it enters its next phase of growth. Intermedia has been without a CMO since Jim Kruger left late last year.
Anderson also has marketing experience with HPE, Sun Microsystems and more.

Intermedia's Jonathan McCormick
Also at Intermedia, chief operating officer Jonathan McCormick will serve as interim chief revenue officer after the departure of Eric Martorano, who left for a job with a customer life-cycle software company.
Intermedia calls McCormick a “driving force behind reshaping and restructuring [the company's] business to optimize operations across the entire organization, [working] closely with sales to maximize opportunities for its partners and their customers."
